Together Again - CD
2024's Together was hailed as a landmark album, sitting atop Folk DJ charts and garnering rave reviews. Two of folk music's most loved and prolific songwriters are back at it again, with the release of 2026's Together Again. With fourteen new, co-written songs, Tom Paxton and John McCutcheon prove what formidable pen men they are.
There is the humorous (Cheatin' While I'm Eatin', We Know How This Ends), the political (Stop at Nothing), the nostalgic (Artie's Last Stand), the heartstrings-tugging (Old Dog), and even a song about The Future. Of course, they give a shout-out to baseball, to World War II vets, and even a loving tribute to their mutual friend and mentor, Pete Seeger.
John's sturdy studio band anchors all the stories with superb musicianship. And, even though Paxton has retired from the road, it's still great to hear that his songwriting chops are among the best in the business.
